Dar El Malaika: base for exploring the surroundings of El Jadida

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, El Jadida is an elegant and refined city in Morocco.

Formerly called Mazagan, El Jadida was built by the Portuguese during their domination of Morocco from 1506 to 1769.

First composed of five bastions, the city now has only four: the bastion of the Angel, which offers a splendid view of the city, the bastion of San Sebastian, which houses a chapel from the sinister era of the Inquisition, as well as the bastion Saint Antoine and the bastion du Saint Esprit.
